How to Throw the Perfect Bachelorette Party
How to Throw the Perfect Bachelorette Party

Being tasked with planning and throwing the perfect bachelorette party for a friend can be a daunting prospect. After all, this is their last night of fun as an unmarried lady, so it's important to make it as special as possible. It's not hard to plan a classy send-off into married life. By keeping in mind a few important factors, it can be easy and fun to plan a bachelorette party that the bride will remember forever, for the right reasons!

01

Set Your Budget

planning a Bachelorette Party

The most important aspect for any bride-to-be is for their most loved friends and family to attend their bachelorette. Therefore, it's important to make sure that it's affordable for all their guests to attend. Before making any concrete plans or reservations, it's a good idea to suggest a cost-per-head to the people on the guest list and check that it's affordable. If not, the bride may prefer fewer items on the itinerary in preference of having her nearest and dearest close by.

Choose an Awesome Activity

Fun activities are the making of any successful bachelorette party. Not only are they a great way to get everyone involved, but they help to create amazing memories (and photos) for the bride to treasure forever. When it comes to choosing the perfect activity, it's important to think first and foremost about the interests and hobbies of the bride-to-be. However, keep the guest list in mind as well. An assault course may be a great choice for some bachelorette parties, but not so suitable if all generations are invited - think about including Grandma!

Cute Accessories

Adorable accessories or outfits can help make the bachelorette photos extra-special. They also provide the bachelorette and her guests with special mementos to keep forever. While bachelorette accessories may conjure up tacky images, there are plenty of gorgeous and stylish options available. You can purchase items such as t-shirts, dresses, sashes or even bathrobes and personalize them to make them unique for your bride-to-be and her entourage.

Get the Drinks Flowing

One of the key ingredients of any bachelorette party is plenty of drinks to get the party started. Even if the budget won't stretch to paying for everyone's drinks for the whole event, supplying some cocktails or bubbles to start the evening is a sure-fire hit. If your bride-to-be doesn't drink, you could plan and mix a couple of different mocktail options. It's a good idea to have some non-alcoholic drinks available in any even for guests who are tee-total, pregnant or nursing.

Fabulous Food

If the bachelorette party is evening-only, finger food may be sufficient. However, if it spans one or more mealtimes, the guests will need to be fed. If the budget allows, booking a restaurant may be the simplest option. However, it's possible to cater for a bachelorette on a budget. It's important to make sure that food is delicious but also easy to prepare. Ready-made pizzas, chips and dips, salads, cheeses, and cold-cuts can all be prepared ahead of time and brought out when needed.

Plan Some Games

Games can be a fantastic way to keep the momentum going at a bachelorette. They're particularly useful for breaking the ice if some members of the party don't know each other. A fun quiz about the bride and groom is an excellent way to start the evening off. Pre-preparing some fun dares is also a great idea for later on in the night once the drinks are flowing- ask each guest to contribute one to pick out of the hat.

Create Photo-Ops

A bachelorette is an event the bride-to-be will want to remember forever. Of course, plenty of selfies will be taken in any event, but it's a great idea to create opportunities to make the photos even more special. Providing cute and silly photo props such as inflatables, funny hats or even comedy mustaches is one way to make sure pictures are laugh-out-loud hilarious. Crafting pretty accessories such as flower crowns can also make the pictures more cohesive and super-stylish.

Plan Accommodation

Unless the bride-to-be and all her guests live locally, it's important to plan where everyone will bed down for the night. At the very least, provide guests with links for local hotels so that it's easy for them to book somewhere to stay for the night. However, it's often more convenient (and fun) to book everyone in to stay in the same venue. Find out who will need a place to stay for the night and factor this into the overall cost. It's often more economical to make a block booking at a hotel or book an apartment for the night.

Don't Forget Pampering

It's a great idea to schedule some down-time in the form of a pampering session into the schedule. If the budget is generous, book the entire party into a local spa for a treatment and recuperation the next morning. Alternatively, arrange for a beautician to visit the hotel for mani-pedis before going out for the night. On a tighter budget, face-masks and home beauty treatments can be purchased beforehand to enjoy before heading out on the town.

Give Great Goodie-Bags

Make the bride-to-be and her guests feel extra-special by giving out goodie-bags or small gifts as a thank you for attending. These don't have to be expensive, just fun and thoughtful. They could include items to be worn during the party. Ideal fillers include temporary tattoos, friendship bracelets, lip balms or even homemade cookies.
